Time for a major game changer?

Leading companies like TTS NMF GmbH (Cranes manufacturer in Germany and China) are discovering how they can improve productivity and profitability, and make life a bit easier, with eMRB™
To qualify as a supplier, many companies like TTS NMF have to maintain a Manufacturing Record Book (MRB). However, it is no secret that the MRB process can become an inflexible, time consuming cost driver. TTS NMF knows that doesn’t need to be the case. They see their new eMRB™ system from CodeIT as a major game changer.

As Andreas Harms, General Manager, Operations, TTS NMF GmbH points out; “eMRB™ is the only system that can simultaneously join together extensive documentation required to be stored locally at TTS production facilities in China and Germany”.

Good software
Andreas also affectionately refers to eMRB™ as “good software”. More specifically, eMRB™ is a new solution from traceability experts CodeIT AS of Norway for the automated creation of electronic documentation covering all stages of design, production, operation, testing and delivery of products. It is designed to meet stringent documentation requirements from a product lifecycle perspective, where rapid traceability is a key requirement.

Major Game Changer
Unlike manual MRB systems, eMRB™ is a secure cloud based SaaS solution accessed via a web-based interface. One of the many features that make it a game changer for TTS NMF is, as General Manager Andreas Harms points out, that it can handle information collection (such as process parameters and machine configurations) directly from equipment at multiple sites anywhere in the world. Another aspect is that the registration of production events enables backward and forward tracing of each identifiable unit and provides precise information (current and historic) about location, material content and manufacturing operations performed. Furthermore, it is designed so back office systems and can be configured to access other systems in the supply chain, thereby enabling virtually any supply chain information and documents anywhere to be captured and integrated without duplication. All in all, eMRB™ includes all the features the market has asked for to help improve productivity, profitability and compliance, and make life a little bit easier.

Hamburg Kick-off
TTS NMF started to use their new eMRB™ system from CodeIT early in November when a two-day workshop was held in Hamburg. TTS NMF (NMF=Neuenfelder Maschinenfabrik GmbH) belongs to TTS Group since 2012. The TTS Group is an acknowledged provider of cargo handling solutions and access systems to the international marine and offshore industries.

For more than four decades TTS NMF has been a global market leader in the production of deck cranes with an emphasis on heavy cargo cranes. Furthermore TTS NMF produce Offshore- and Knuckleboom cranes for worldwide customers. The company’s main facility is located in Hamburg, one of the world’s busiest container- and trans-shipment ports and has recently opened new Joint Venture in China. Additional TTS NMF has Shanghai office in China since several years to manage external production of cranes in North-, Middle- and South China.
